Located in the heart of the Everest region and surrounded by some of the world-famous peaks such as Mount Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Chamlang, Mt. Ama Dablam and Mt. Mera Peak, Mt. Baruntse is raised to the height of 7,129m and this expedition is that of the highly regarded by mountaineers expedition as it is one of the few peaks over 7000m in height, but with a high success rate of ascent on proper course.The mountain's approach follows the Mera Peak Trek to Mera La and then Baruntse base camp (5,250m). The route is technically demanding and basically a simple climbing on snow and ice with sections of more hangings. Normally, two high camps are established above the base camp for climbing Baruntse. Camp I is set up just below the East colonel at an altitude of 5,700m and Camp II is on the south-east at a height of 6,420m peak.
